Super-bright and vibrant, but with a wide spectrum of aromas from green apple to papaya and pomegranate. The freshness takes your breath away! Samurai sword clarity at the finish would be too much for a dry wine, but with this generous touch of grape sweetness it’s really exciting. A cuvee of the earliest and latest picked grapes of the vintage. From organically grown grapes. Vegan.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Predominantly from the Pettenthal, the 2021 Riesling Kabinett Jean Baptiste is based on about 20 different vats and offers a coolish, clear and precise bouquet of beautifully ripe and finely concentrated fruit with raisin and pink grapefruit aromas when aerated. On the palate, this is a round, lush and savory, persistently saline and crystalline Kabinett in the classic style. Fabulous. 10% stated alcohol. closure. Tasted at the domaine in August 2022.

Riesling possesses a remarkable ability to reflect the character of wherever it is grown while still maintaining its identity. A regal variety of incredible purity and precision, this versatile grape can be just as enjoyable dry or sweet, young or old, still or sparkling and can age longer than nearly any other white variety. Somm Secret—Given how difficult it is to discern the level of sweetness in a Riesling from the label, here are some clues to find the dry ones. First, look for the world “trocken.” (“Halbtrocken” or “feinherb” mean off-dry.) Also a higher abv usually indicates a drier Riesling.
