Winemaker Notes
A milder wine on a more modest scale than its knockout 2015 predecessor, as the vintage would naturally dictate. As always, however, the wine sets a super high bar of quality for a basic estate wine. It's startlingly concentrated and pleasingly saline and lingering in the finish. Shellfish wine, flaky fish wine, or it could work with a huge range of appetizers and Mediterranean snacks.

This combines power and grace, with smoky mineral details framing the core of peach and pear. Dry, but offers a good amount of fruit, backed by vibrant acidity, leading to a long, mouthwatering finish.

Riesling possesses a remarkable ability to reflect the character of wherever it is grown while still maintaining its identity. A regal variety of incredible purity and precision, this versatile grape can be just as enjoyable dry or sweet, young or old, still or sparkling and can age longer than nearly any other white variety. Somm Secret—Given how difficult it is to discern the level of sweetness in a Riesling from the label, here are some clues to find the dry ones. First, look for the world “trocken.” (“Halbtrocken” or “feinherb” mean off-dry.) Also a higher abv usually indicates a drier Riesling.
