Winemaker Notes
Trefethen's most rare and beloved Cabernet Sauvignon leads with dark fruit aromas layered with integrated floral notes. This wine is fresh and supple on the palate with flavors of blueberry, blackberry, and red currant supported by dusty, fine-grained tannins and hints of cedar and sage. The elegant structure and balance culminate in an uplifting, lengthy finish.
This robust Cabernet Sauvignon pairs exceptionally well with highly marbled steak, like a Tomahawk Ribeye. This cut of meat is both dramatic and well-balanced and enhances the peppery berry notes of this wine, while the fat elongates its finish. Throw in the roasted potatoes and spinach to round out this dish, and this pairing will take your palate over the moon!

Connoisseurs' Guide
As always, a very rich and expressive Cabernet Sauvignon that shows exceptionally well in its youth, the latest in a lengthy string of Trefethen HaLo successes is a lavish wine long on deep fruit with a healthy measure of slightly caramelly oak in support. It is a big and potent wine, but it is not overdone, and its very fine tannic structure ensures a good decade of age, yet it is so very rich and outgoing now that is it is bound to test the patience of dedicated Cabernet collectors who are lucky enough to have a few bottles tucked away in their cellars.

One of the most prestigious wines of the world capable of great power and grace, Napa Valley Cabernet is a leading force in the world of fine, famous, collectible red wine. Today the Napa Valley and Cabernet Sauvignon are so intrinsically linked that it is difficult to discuss one without the other. But it wasn’t until the 1970s that this marriage came to light; sudden international recognition rained upon Napa with the victory of the Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars 1973 Cabernet Sauvignon in the 1976 Judgement of Paris.
Cabernet Sauvignon undoubtedly dominates Napa Valley today, covering half of the land under vine, commanding the highest prices per ton and earning the most critical acclaim. Cabernet Sauvignon’s structure, acidity, capacity to thrive in multiple environs and ability to express nuances of vintage make it perfect for Napa Valley where incredible soil and geographical diversity are found and the climate is perfect for grape growing. Within the Napa Valley lie many smaller sub-AVAs that express specific characteristics based on situation, slope and soil—as a perfect example, Rutherford’s famous dust or Stags Leap District's tart cherry flavors.
