Distiller Notes
Elegant and sophisticated, Jameson 18-Year-Old rare whiskey is matured for 18 years in hand-selected oak casks from European and American forests. Made with rich pot still whiskey blended with local malted and un-malted barley, then blended with fine grain whiskey and distilled three times. Silky smooth whiskey a subtle vanilla nuance that finishes with spice, toffee, leather, and caramel flavors
Aromatic oils, orange, apricot, dried fruits, a touch of wood and toffee. Water brings out Sherry, becoming chocolate and Bourbon biscuit.
The result of an historically prohibitive tax placed on malted barley by the English crown, Irish Whiskey is most often produced from a combination of un-malted barley and other grains. Whereas most other Whiskeys are twice distilled, Irish Whiskeys are distilled three times in a column still and must mature in oak barrels for a minimum of three years. These intricate production steps combine to make them lighter, smoother and more approachable than other styles.
